Reflecting on the increasing numbers of video game companies securing money from the Telefilm Canada New Media Fund, Jeff wrote in early 2004: "If policy-makers are looking for the right funding formula, they could do worse than create a new fund without touching the old, with at least half the old fund’s resources, dedicated to games." With the creation of its Great Canadian Video Game Competition, Telefilm has essentially done that – and may have even gone one better.
